I'd never be able to express it this well. Even though your mother is relieved of her suffering, and her soul is in a better place, she lives on thru your memories.
My mother died 25 years ago, at age 66, but my brothers and I feel she'll always be with us through our memories of her.

She is not suffering anymore, that's what I keep telling myself. But I am having a hard time, me and my wife sat with her for 6 hours and watched her slowly suffocate. it was horrible. she made it just long enough for my brother to make it in from out of town, he walked in, told her he loved her and she just went. I reached over checked her pulse, and she was gone. Its going to be a long hard road but she wanted us to move on and remember her, remember her strength and grace, and how good of a person she was. my little sister is having a hard time understanding what happened, and my kids are also. but we will make it, tomorrow starts the planning for her memorial, that is going to be hard. and right now I am writing her obituary for our local paper, and I just cannot stop crying

we will truly miss your kindness and understanding mom.

and thank you to everyone on here for your kind words, it means a lot to have people to talk to outside of the immediate family. once again thank you to all and god bless

Teej, you're strong as hell man.

I couldn't see myself stepping up to write the obituary and taking on your little sister on top of you're own family.

I have a lot of respect for you man.

You're a tough dude Teej. Handling all of this emotion is difficult, but you're doing it in stride and taking the others under your wing. Props for being the person you are and having the personality you do. Stay strong.

thank you guys, I am only as strong as I need to be, and family is family, I could never see my sister going anywhere else. yesterday we had the viewing of my mother and my sister took it hard, but it had to be done, to provide closure, and tomorrow we have the viewing of a very good friend of mine who died the day before my mom, and Friday is his funeral, it is going to be hard doing this twice in one week. but it has to be done. its been a horrible week.

I'm sorry for you, Teej. As already said, you're strong as hell. Keep your head up and keep guiding your family. Most importantly, stick together. This is the thick, so only the thin is left to come

( I hope that comes out positive. I shouldn't have thick / thin flipped )

She is at peace now. I know the feeling of losing someone close; it is a very emotional ride. Your strength in the situation will help everyone pull through. Kudos to you for everything you have done, are doing and for the things still to come. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers, and I wish nothing but the best and a speedy recovery for everyone from this hard time.

Take care bud!
