Stock HU

is anyone else having problems with there headunit just turning completly off while the car is on and your sitting/driving in the car? i have just started to have this problem, and my HU display would show 5-6 orange lines going vertical. can someone help me, i want to know whats up and whats causing it. thanks

what year radio is it and what kind? (ie: tape/cd)

i only had my stock HU in for a week after owning the car, but i have heard of people complaining about this before (a couple of times) not sure if there was ever a solution found though.

I've heard the same thing too that the stock radios crap out a lot. Just pick another stock HU up on eBay real cheap or throw an aftermarket HU in.

yea my moms 2001 honda hu is having problems, the CD player wont read anything and sais an error message and we looked in the manual at it said that the cd is scrached or dirty, we put a new 1 still not work and we used 1 of those eye cleanrs still dont work so i donno wtf, just get an aftermarket 1 for real cheap, it will be worth it and there pretty easy to install, u can usualy find a harness for ur model of car...

I have an aftermarket CD player and it does that to me too. It wil turn completely off and then come back on like I just turned my car on or something. my headlights flicker like a strobe light(make people pull over) and my oil light flickers at the same time . What could all that be? Also sometimes I can be sitting at a red light playing my system and my car trie to stall out on me. I think my battery may be weak, but when I test it it shows that it has all 12v. So I don't know what to do. Any ideas? I am going to get a new Alternator because my headlights fades in and out when my system is on and I am thinking about getting a optima battery but I want a blue top except that it is a marine battery so I will need to find a cover for the red or yellow top...which ever I get. If anyone has ideas on fixing my problems please let me know.

might want to check all your grounds.
