Post by bstc00 » Sun Sep 19, 2010 7:58 pm

I’m going to put my car up for sale and wanted to know what everyone thought about what price I should be asking for it. Its a 05 with 43000 on it nothing wrong I will be putting all stock back. It is a rebuild title.

Rebuilt title kills you.

I honestly wouldn't pay over $7000 for it MAX...

Post it up for $9,000 and hope for the best.

Yep, rebuild title generally cuts blue book in half. At least from an insurance standpoint. You pay full premiums, and if it is totaled, (again) they will only pay out half of the fair market value. They don't like the idea of paying out on a car the industry already paid for. But they aren't bashful about taking your $.

Progressive flat out told me they would only pay a percentage of the parts used to repair it, and nothing more, as they already paid me for the car. You could say that relationship ended soon thereafter.

That is why R title vehicles are a bigger risk, besides the stigma of the "wrecked car that might fall apart driving down the road". Mine is also an R title, but it only had hood and core support damage. Convincing a potential buyer that it isn't two cars made into one is a whole other issue.

Thats cool. I dont think your car is worth all the much.

Im just looking to sell and only sell. As I spend to much money on it with mods and could use the extra money every month...Time for a new and bigger house. :D
