Dash/Instrument Wiring Harness

Post by 0dd3n » Tue Nov 29, 2005 6:09 pm

I posted earlier about how my headlights didnt work and everyone seemed to agree i needed a new switch. Well... i bought a new switch, and now they work.... but now the turn signals work. When i got home today i felt the connector to the switch and i was decently hot. (my old switch was melted to the connector) so, does anyone know where i can get a new harness or connector i can rig up, or is it just gonna be worth it to take it in and have it professionally done???

Head to a salvage yard and see if they'll let you cut the connector plus a few inches of wiring off then cut off your damaged connector and soder the new one on.

^^^
As he stated, DCx does not offer a pigtail replacement since there has not been a demand for one
I found that out the hard way when I was wiring up a PT switch to my R/T. It took me almost 2months on here to find a replacement pig tail. Also, you aren't running anything special for lights are you? The multi-F-up switches cant handle to much of a load with anything more than stock setups...

im not running any other lights but the gauges which use virtually no power anyway. when i plug the old switch in the left blinker goes even if the keys are in my pocket so im positive ill have to find a new pig tail and just solder that in

well i got that shit all figured out and fixed with some extenive rewiring job on my part. I took the whole harness out of a 2nd gen r/t. I also had to go get a mopar replacement switch though. all in all id say i did a damn good job and saved 230$ because the dodge dealer said a replacement harness was 250$. so if you need wiring done for some odd reason then just do it yourself and youll save a shit load of money and you learn a bit more about the electrical system and all
