Air pressure?

Post by evilneon02 » Sun Sep 26, 2010 1:47 pm

I got some srt4 rims with some 40 series tires and one tire looks low on air but it has 36 psi and it's the passanger front all the other tires has 34 psi my question is this what is the recommened psi for 205/40/17? The tire says max 50psi but I always thought it was 32 to36 psi and would the wieght of the motor make the tire look like it's going flat even tho the psi is 36?

Each tire is different IIRC. For better MPGs you'll go higher, but for maximum performance you'll typically go 32-33 PSI. I usually have anywhere from 35-37.

Depends on the make and everything of the tire. For maximum comfort you want 32PSI. Typically for performance, you want a harder sidewall, so you air the tires up. I aired my 195/60/14 tires up to 40 pounds.

You can safely go up to 50, but it will ride stiffer and stiffer with the more PSi. I'd stick it around 36 all around and leave it there.

Yeah it would, and there's not much you can do about that.
