No Power

Post by streets2008 » Mon Sep 27, 2010 11:39 pm

So i had my Ipod plugged in charging. i then unplugged it and plugged in my cell charger (both in the 12V "cigarette lighter") and when i plugged in my cell charger it didn't work. i have tried multiple things in it sense and nothing work in it. i checked all my fuses with a (not the right word) but fuse checker and none seem to be blown. any ideas on what it could be?

Have you checked the PDC under the hood. It contains additional fuses to your fuse panel. IIRC the fuse for the adapter circuit is in there. You can find it to the front and right of your battery.

Possibly one of the power outlet plugs for your chargers is shorting it out. The metal strips could be contacting somehow, and blowing the fuse. The power outlet in my Jeep will short out no matter what I plug in there. I am just too lazy to replace it with an aftermarket one.

I basically bought a constant 5 volt supply from Radio Shack (7805)
and made a USB style charger for my GPS/phone, etc.
