Hello everyone, I am fairly new to Neon's, although I have had "tuner" cars before....
I am looking at getting new wheels/tires, and I can get a basically brand new set, used off a buddy. My problem is that the tires are 225/45/18's and I realize these are roughly an inch taller than my stock 14's. Anyone run this size before?
I have an 04' SE and I am concerned that the larger tire will throw off my ABS and A/T. Anyone know the range you can go without "throwing off" these funtions?
Thanks in advance for any help, and Im sorry if this has been covered.... I searched and couldnt find my exact scenario.

Basically 10% of the original size is acceptable.
But if you can find a dealer, or someone with a DRB scan tool that will work with you, the pinion factor in the 40te can be reset to the new "gear ratio" the taller tire create. (If those will even fit)
The pinion factor is the reading from the VSS. The Vehicle speed sensor is basically the parking pawl, and the output sensor on the 41/40te ATX's, there isn't really a speedometer pinion. So the speedo can be corrected to any gear/tire ratio that the ATX is equipped with.
With the pinion factor set properly, it will automatically adjust the shift points, etc. Granted it might relearn them a little, due to the increased load, but not nearly as well as having a corrected signal.

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.

Ok thats great info, I really appreciate it.
As far as the fitment goes, is it that you dont think that they will clear the strut/spring cup or that they will interfer with the frnder(s)?
I have not found out the offset/back space of the wheels yet to determine the fitment there either. Any input?

The FAQ section is the most overlooked one.
