SRT Hood Question

Post by unc-newbie » Wed Oct 06, 2010 12:07 am

I am looking to get an SRT Hood or something similar. There is a hood for sale in the Parts section and what I am curious about is if anyone knows if it will fit a 2001 Dodge Neon ES.

Here is the link where it was posted

When I have looked online I see that it is for a 2003-2005 but didn't know if it would still fit a 2001 and if it did would there be any short comings that would make a big enough difference to not buy it.

:withstupid: With the 00 front bumper It won't be so bad since the hood and the bumper don't "meet." The hood should fit just fine.

Ok. And if I switch to an 2003-2005 SRT front bumper will there still be a gap?

Nope.

But remember you would have to buy 03 style headlights if u got a srt4 bumper.

& then it would look just too fake. So I say just stick wit what u got. Slab the hood on there & don't do srt4 front bumper.

It means SRT-4 appearance with a 2.0 N/A in it. I personally don't like car to be that way, since it's not an SRT-4.

Yo, there's definitely still a gap between the SRT hood and SRT bumper on the 00-02 Neons. At least on mine there is and I'm holding it lower than stock height with the hood pins.

And he's saying not to have a big SRT bumper hanging off the front of your car if the rest of the body is stock. It'll look buck-tooth and lame.

I will have the side skirts and rear bumper also. I am doing an SRT swap so I figured why not have the body style also. I mean the guy at the junkyard that I got my parts from gave me everything for $1300. Motor has 31000 miles on it. And it looks to be Stage 1.
