Only time I've been a dick was in this thread, for the most part (go ahead and look) because it felt like some of us were being singled out for not going to that meet. Not to mention the other silly reasons for not posting such as repetitive questions, which in my opinion is very minimal. Seems like we have a problem of inflated ego's.

No one is ever singled out because they don't go to a meet, I'd have a lot of banning to do if we did.

You have to remember that you have only been a member for 8 months. I just hit 6 years and there are many others that have been here 2-4 years. You just haven't been around long enough to see the repetativness.

I don't think anyone in this thread has given off an "inflated ego" vibe.

And your "carlisle crybabies" post doesn't help anything so why post it? All it does is instigate.

Oh my god... not only are you annoying, but you are either retarded or illiterate.

PLEASE go back and read my comment where I first mentioned Carlisle. It had NOTHING to do with being superior because you attend the event. All I said was the group that usually shows up aren't the people that act super tough on the internet all the time and get really annoying. It makes for a fun event when people aren't there whining like bitches or being petty. I could give a shit less if you go or not, there is no elitism amongst those that do attend as far as I'm concerned; it's just a car show... just don't act like you have in this thread if you do go... Can you understand my point yet?

Well, I had no idea this thread was even here, so let's rewind a bit for Papa Random's comments, shall we?
OB wrote: The growing number of trouble makers and shit talkers who make minimal quality contributions to this site have definitely played a role in my interest in posting and participating on 2gn. I can't possibly keep up with the drama and BS, nor do I want to, really.
Not to be an ass or start shit... but if you're not interested in being around here, why do you continue to be a mod?
sidepipe87 wrote:Other members start shit JUST TO START SHIT. I.E. making worthless threads about stupid trends just to get a rise out of people. That's very immature and isn't on par with voicing an opinion that may be controversial.

Where are Josh and Anthony? Josh quit posting and Anthony hardly posts these days.
Ryan, I had no idea you cared so much... Josh frequently stops posting, and has been doing it for almost his entire time here. As for the "worthless threads about stupid trends just to get a rise out of people" I know you wouldn't be commenting on me making an honest thread about SRT hood gap, would you? Because, as I recall that was a thread designed for those who like it to explain why they like it to those of us who don't understand, and that thread was blown up by ignorant comments designed to start shit with me.

True story.
racer12306 wrote:SRT Hood Gap: Don't like it, who cares. Apparently the person that put the hood on their car doesn't mind it that much, so why should you.
How is it so difficult for this forum to comprehend that I honestly wanted people's feedback on what they liked about the gap and was genuinely trying to understand their opinion on the topic...

Try lube, "she" won't heat up and pop so easy.

All in all, I do agree that there seems to be a lot of butt-hurtedness going around these days and wish it would cease. When I joined this forum (almost 5 years ago) you could make a joke at someone's expense and people would laugh, including the person the joke was about. Nowadays if you tease someone, whether you're being a dick or not, you're the asshole, no matter what.

Interestingly enough, a lot of the ones who aren't here anymore were also some of the ones who had the most to say to help people around here. Funny how that works out, isn't it? That's not to say we don't have those who help around still. BRR has gone through some major shitstorms (some heralded by yours truly) and still sticks around to help out when he can. That's commendable. Even if I don't particularly like him, I can respect that he's done that much.

As far as the comments on whether the site is slowing down or dying... well, yeah it is and for many good reasons. Some of the people hanging around here don't make it easy for newbs to come in. I know I have been less than friendly on occasion. Also the fact that our cars have not been produced in several years and weren't anything terribly special to begin with (SRT not included) don't help. You look at the cars with forums still and what are they? Muscle cars, rare cars and trucks, limited productions, etc. Where are the Pinto forums? I haven't looked, but I doubt there are any. People view this car as a POS little econobox, and if sites like this don't/can't/won't change their minds, the market will continue to shrink and sites like this will eventually die off to be replaced with porn.

I'm done now, I believe my soapbox is about to splinter under my considerable weight anyways.

 actually that hadn't even crossed my mind at all at the time. I was solely berating Teej with that comment.

As for that thread... it really made no sense. There's no deep meaning behind people's reasoning. It's not something like dark matter which we can't understand. It's very simple... THE GAP JUST DOESN'T BOTHER MOST PEOPLE THAT MUCH. THAT'S HOW THEY THINK IT LOOKS "OKAY". Some solutions make even less sense, like Lane's. 'I didn't like the gap on my '05 so I switched to an '00 bumper'. Right... so you didn't like the gap, so to fix it you make a HUGE gap

They don't like the gap. If they could have that hood without the gap they would. But they like the hood enough to put up with the gap.
