215/45/17... A 215/40/17 will be "stock" size but looks like garbage.

I'm just not into the look of no sidewall. It looks goofy as hell to me. Eastwood, no offense but to me that doesn't look good on your car. It enhances the wheel gap that you have. The 215-45-17 looks perfect IMO.
Hansken... just run a real, non 2001-style ricer size tire and roll your fenders and dump it moar

It also won't hurt to check around your local tire places. By the time tire rack/ discount tire add shipping, a few local shops in my area are just as competitive. Prolly why I have never bought from them, if I can get them local, and don't have to wait for them to be shipped...
I always ask for installed price, taxes out the door, for an accurate comparison.

Depends on the tire really. Some of the more popular tires this is probably correct. Some of the more specialized tire this is a no. I get mine for about half what the local shops want for them from tirerack or just some random online tire dealer.occasional demons wrote:It also won't hurt to check around your local tire places. DTD has free shipping. Dan just overpaid by $86 on tires locally vs DTD because he didn't want to wait the 3 days or whatever to get them... And this was after he told them they're lower online and they said we wont match online pricing but took like $5 off each tire or something.occasional demons wrote:It also won't hurt to check around your local tire places. I thought they went from $114 to $109 or some shit? And it isn't a probably, you CERTAINLY could've gotten them $86 cheaper because I went and looked on DTD!
Either way you didn't even post the important comment... You replaced GOOD 205/40/17s with 215/45/17s because the 205/40 looks weaaaakkkkkkkkkk

Check out Mr Tire in your area, if there are any.
I've had really good luck with prices there.

Buy these: LINK
Go to a merchants tire, they'll probably mount them for $40. Total investment is going to be $360.

Some people think that a 215 on a 6" wheel is too wide. However, I've heard of people running them with no problems. Generally, you want to keep the width of the tire close to the width of the rim. Then again, I've seen zillions of people push the limits without problems, including myself on more than a few occasions.
