Job interview on Monday(Update)

Post by HazmatJeff » Sat Oct 23, 2010 4:38 pm

So I have a job interview at Best Buy on Monday at 1pm and I'm super excited. I have been at McDonald's for the past 2 years and it's just time to move on. for the past year I have been working at 4am five days a week and gone to school full time. Not to mention how :cussing: McDonald's food is.

I've always loved electronics and I'm hoping I get this job. I am scared about taking it and quitting McD's if I get hired. I'm guaranteed 40 hours a week and I have a car loan to pay. I've never done retail only food service so it's going to be an odd transition if it happens.

I should say that I had 2 interviews at the same best buy over a year ago and wasn't hired. I'm not sure why, but I think it had to do with me not asking any questions and applying for merchandising when i didn't even know what that was.

BTW, my 8k HIDs are in the mail and will hopefully come next week.

UPDATE:
So the interview went really well, I feel I hit it out of the park. he said they needed to interview some more people, then if I was good they'd give me a call back.

I used to work for Best Buy, and it didn't worked out at all for me.
FYI, if you're a part-timer in a department, whoever is a full-timer is practicaly your "boss". That part I didn't like at all.
I guess it was my store or my managers, IDK.
Wish you luck though, hope it works out for you!

Same reason I quit. The full time employees on a power trip thinking they're my boss?

The discount is awesome. Really shows you how bad we get it as consumers.

I wouldn't mind working there again IF I was a manager or geek squad, otherwise they can kiss my ass working on the floor. Actually I think i'd only do Geek Squad.

How hard is it to become a manager?
At McDonald's once you know how to do everything and show good qualities you can be recommended to be a manger. You can become one in a little over a year.

Just curious, that's all.
