need some help

Post by apk2k6 » Fri Dec 02, 2005 11:43 pm

Well I'm going to get door panels to install power options, but I need the wiring. What would be the best way to get these? I posted in the want to buy area but I knew if I asked for help here it would get more attention. Does it matter if the wiring is from a 1st or 2nd gen? This is very hard to find lol, thanks for the help.

The only thing you may run into is that the dash harness wont' have the hookups for the door harness... then you'll have to manually wire them up which might be a bitch. Not sure though since I've never really taken the time to look a a base neon to see what it does and doesn't have.

Easiest way though... salavage yard.

Do a google search, if you want to install power door stuff, this is probably the way to go Vs trying to install OE parts....

I've talked to someone that parts out SRT-4's and he said he could get me whatever I needed, but he's not sure if the wiring is different in the SRT's than other neons. Does anyone know if there are any differences?

and what EXACTLY do i need, which harnesses and etc..... thanks a lot

The wiring is a tad different... not much but there are a few things that you may run into if you swapped over the SRT dash harness. Like if you have an '00-01 then the radio plugs will be different. If you have an '00-02 then there's a turn signal wire one pin off on the connector so you'd have move that. There might be a few more thing things that you may run into that'd you'd have to troubleshoot. Overall the whole wiring is the same, just some of the pinouts on the connectors might be different between the years. If you have an '03+ then it'd be an easy swap over since the '03+ harness looks to be about the same as far as pinouts on connectors.

it might be cheaper and easier to find some doors with p/w at a junkyard. that way you dont have to worry about intalling the motor and tracks for the p/w... i've heard thats a bitch to do.
