fuse 10 keeps blowing

Post by vincer20 » Thu Nov 04, 2010 5:12 pm

this is about the 12th time this fuse has blown on me. it first did it in aug i was taking off and got to about 20-30 mph then it died. then it did it while my car was idling. today i was driving at normal speeds then it did it again. i replaced the fuse ran for about 5-6 miles and again it blows i change the fuse turn key to acc and it blows 2-4 times. i think it might be the fuel pump overheating and pulling to many amps, but i dont know. has anyone else had this problem?

i'm inclined to say its either your fuel pump, or the wiring to it. either way i'd pull out the fuel pump from the tank and have a look.

LINK

There is a page showing what fuse 10 does. It is also powering the SKIM, RKE, and instrument cluster.

Fuse 21 is what powers the FP, so I doubt it is the pump.

Fuse 21 would be in the PDC. No clue on the fusible link. (FP/ASD)

of the car is auto, check the wiring for the convertor lockup selnoid, i just had this problem on a 96, sounds like the exact same problem. it was that the wire was exposed and shorting on the tranny case.
