The 04 SRT SOLD

Post by INVUJerry » Sun Nov 07, 2010 7:16 pm

As a few of you may have heard or seen, I bought AsianSteveFTW's car. So far all I've done with the car is driven it, took off the monster banner, and I took it to the track once. It has a boost leak, but I did get a 13.9@102 out of it.

Here's a few pictures:

And the list of mods:
02 R/T front bumper with a civic lip, 02 racoon lights, export grille with chrysler badge, and R/T badges. It's got an intake, an injen catback (FS), DC front strut brace (FS), turbo XS BOV, eibach springs, big intercooler, solid motor mounts, and a carbon fiber hood.

For the future:

Power mods:
I'm going to do a 3" o2 housing and downpipe, but I'm not sure which brand yet. I'm thinking maybe the MPX o2 housing, with an ebay downpipe. I have a stock SRT midpipe sitting around, so I'm going to use that with a single exit muffler, since 90% of the restriction is in the downpipe itself. I'm also going to get a DSP to tune it with, and eventually a set of slicks. With the DSP, 3" o2 housing and downpipe, and slicks, the car should do 12's, and that'll be pretty much it.

Wheels:
It has flat black SRT wheels. I'm going to paint them the same color as the wheels are on my NYG, graphite. The tires are nearly new, so I'm going to keep them around for a while yet. I also plan to get a set of Rota Slipstream wheels in 15x7.5 with a 20MM offset, rocking 225/50/15 tires. The tires will be 1" shorter than stock, but they'll only throw off the speedo 4%, so I'm not really worried about it.

Outside:
The headlights are a little banged up. The driver side's reflector is seperated from the housing, so I'm going to replace it, and also get a set of 02 S-style eyelids from ebay.

Well my original plan was to either boost or swap my 05 neon. I'd also like to have done the 02 front end. I just happened to find Steve selling the car I was going to make mine into! I just need to sell my 05 and I'll be set.

Yeah that's what Steve said he was going for. More "stealth". I'll probably be removing the R/T badges though.

Also, it has a 2.0 DOHC valve cover. I want to find the 1gn valve cove that is flat, or the 2.4 turbo one.

I don't have any close up pics. The reflector is seperated from the housing on the passenger side one so it's fogged up with water. They are tinted with stained glass paint I think.

Lol. 5 seconds of straight rev limiter is always good on a car.

Mine shoots flames when I hit rev limit shifting that are soo big out the downpipe I can see the ground light up in my side mirror.

Rev limiter I'd there for a reason. Put it to use!! Mine isn't putting out too much light at night because it's on a stock ecu and tune. Can't wait to get my dsp and fix my boost leaks.
