It wasn't just the R/Ts and ACRs but I believe in the early years or early 2000's they came with them also.

Mine is a 2001 SE and it had a rear swaybar, i dont know if it being an export had anything to do with it.

would it be better to just buy OEM PT GT front and R/T sway bars versus Hotchkis sway bars?
and when i install a rear sway bar on a non sway bar car, do i need to drill into my chassis to mount them? i already know i have to have that one mount on my struts, thats why im getting IPP coilovers.

you want front pt cruiser CONVERTIBLE bar if you're going the stock route(26mm). unless you find it on ebay or on another forum for cheap, i think the better bushings and slightly better handling from the hotchikins would be a better choice. you'd have to also score a 19mm rt rear and then you'd have a tight setup, but for a lot less hassle, the hotchkins again sounds like the better deal. if you want cheap, stick with srt bars and you wont be sorry.
hotchkis will be better imo, they are also hollow therefore much lighter.

Yup. I plan on going this route.Baal wrote:hotchkis will be better imo, they are also hollow therefore much lighter.

That would have to be either the biggest cheap-parts-score in history, or the funniest thing I've heard in a long time.Anonymous User wrote:well i was just wondering because i was going to lower my car with 1st gen springs w/ tokico blues, and use PT covt. front & R/T rear sway bars. and i dont want to spend over about ~$350 on suspension.

well... i really want to sepnd near or around ~$500. i know tokico blues with springs on ebay go for 300, and i would have another 200 left over for the sway bars i want, and possibly rear strut bar.

Are you getting blues? IPP's? What's your goal? Are you going to autocross the car or just cruise the East Bay?
Coilovers will (should) cost more than $500 A good strut/spring combo should cost a bit more too after the alignment and such.
Then the sways are gonna' probably cost more than you think too. Just wondering............every $ counts in my garage cuz I aint got much to play with.

can you even legally drive at 15 though, let alone race or is this just a wish list? i would stick to good old srt springs, struts and sways for under $200... there was another post on here about a guy on srt forums selling replacement srt struts for $30... so $60 in shocks, $40 for springs, $50-$80 for sways and endlinks and then off to the alignment shop. the setup is a lot better than you probably expect and should be a good starting point
16 is the legal driving age in California. His car is way-to bling to be rollin' illegally anywhere Oakland. He'd be nuts rollin' in that neighborhood with an eye-catching car at 15 years old.

Well i did want IPPs, and still kind of do if i was to get ipp i would get the only hieght adjustable ones and then some sway bars like hotchkis. and then buy some $100 rims and tires from my friend. i would mainly be crusing around, but then later on i want to autocross. i think i want to just get some coilovers instead of spring/strut combo now that i think of it. and im not gonna be 15 for longgrambo wrote:Are you getting blues? As far as I know, you shouldn't have to do any drilling, but I'm not exactly sure on the pre-'03s.Anonymous User wrote:do i need to do any drilling or anything when installing a rear swaybar on a non rear swaybar equipped car? after i get the SRt suspension i might also buy some SRT swaybars after.
BUMP* What are good sizes for front and rear sways on a daily driver? after i do springs and shocks im gonna hook up some stiff bars; i want some oversteer and improved handling without stiffening things up much. 22mm fr/19mm r?
