stock cd player

Post by apk2k6 » Tue Dec 06, 2005 3:18 pm

I have the stock cd player and a lot of times when I put in a cd it will make a ticking sound really fast, and after a few seconds it will stop and play the cd or eject it out. I noticed it happens more with burned cd's but it also happens with other ones as well. Does it need to be cleaned or something? Thanks

when i used to have my stock radio, it did that to me, but it was because the cd had scratches on it. I think the laser is very sensitive. It wouldnt hurt to give it a cleaning. Also there are some CD-R's that wont play in it becasue of the color dye, and CD-RW's i found mine didnt like to play them, unless the CD-RW was closed when it was burned. (Dont worry if u use a CD-RW and close it, it can still be erased and re-written on)

They make cleaner discs that you dot some cleanser on and they have little tiny bristles on the disc. You just pop it in and off it goes. The instructions are on the disc. They are under $10 and you can use them in all your CD and DVD players. I clean my regularly since I use mine ALOT!
