They were all red with black silverstones with polished centers and lips and had yellow letter goodyear tires. They came in different trim levels some were R/Ts, some ES, even SEs

"Dodge Came Back Into Nascar In 2001. To Celibrate this Special occasion they built a Series of Motorsports Edition Cars, The models were the Intrepid, Dakota and Neon. This is an 01 Dodge Neon R/T Motorsports Edition. There were 87 Total Motorsports made (ES,SE, RT) and were only made in 01. This car is 1 of 10 so Equiped. That means there are only 9 other cars Exactly like this one ever Built. Most people say, "Its Just a Neon"..."

Yep, they came in black and silver as well. My fault. They did all have black silverstones though... Other than that... it's all covered. It was just an appearance package. Not sure what else you want to know.

Anyone who loves NASCAR Winston Cup racing has to expect that Dodge showrooms are celebrating the marques return to NASCAR this year after a 15-year absence. Dodge has introduced special motorsports edition packages for Neon, Intrepid and Dakota vehicles that are flame red, black or silver. The package includes race-inspired wheels and tires, motorsports badging and a motorsports track bag/cooler with Dodge racing collectibles. Last but not least, the Dodge Neon SE is offered with a $660 Power Pak package that makes several popular options; including a single CD player; power windows, door locks, mirrors and trunk lid release; and 15-inch tires available on the base Neon.

Blah, blah, blah....

When I was looking into buying a 2002 2GN, I looked at a leftover '01 R/T Motorsports Edition... black with a black leather interior. Of course, if I had bought it, it would have had the same fate as the Solar Yellow SXT that I ended up buying so it was probably a good thing that I passed on it.

Not necessarily gramps... the world would've taken you in an entirely different direction had you made a different decision. You may have still had it today and never gotten your SRT

There is a guy that owns a red motorsport that goes to my school. Let me just say it is not taken care of at all. It has three motorsport wheels and one aftermarket. Paint is faded and in some areas non existent. Interior is filled with what looks like all of his clothes and random wendys/burger king/mcdonalds bag and cups. Make me cringe everytime i see it

I found one for sale locally and is in pretty decent shape for being 9 years old, front bumper is cracked but besides that, no rust

Tomorrow , I'm going to give the guy a call and find out what I can about the car itself and see what his lowest bid will be and maybe the new owner a 2gn

Here is a pic of my old 01 MSE good ol 3spd auto. Brand new with 34 miles on it. Would kill to be able to find those tires again, they were crappy tires but looked good on the car.

they really did spec this car with wrong size tires from the factory IMHO... a little more sidewall and it would have looked 'correct'
