2000 Neon ES - could have been yours! Indiana car...SOLD!

Post by PurNrG » Tue Dec 06, 2005 10:07 pm

Okay - so I'm finally gonna sell it. I love the car, but I want something that is a little older that I can do some body/engine work on. Like the title says, it is a 2000 Neon ES with ~57500 miles and an automatic transmission. I've done some mild customizations to it, all of which can be seen on my web page - http://forsale.purnrg.net. The only thing wrong with the car that I can think of is the drivers side rear exterior handle is broken (the plastic is broken - the mechanism is fine) and one of the brake rotors is warped (which I am planning on replacing). I bought the car new, and have always babied it. The car has never been wrecked and has only a few minor door dings/scratches.

I'm looking to get $6500 for it - KBB says it is worth 7110 retail without figuring in any of the extras!

Here is a quick run down on some of the things I have done to it....
  • SRT Exhaust
    AEM Cold Air Intake
17" Wheels with Kumho tires - tires have <5000 miles on them
15" Snowflakes with winter tires (tires are also new)
    Dropzone lowering springs
    Tinted Windows
    Custom blue interior inserts/paint
and here's a pic

Like I said, there are more pics on my web page and a better list of all I have done to it. Let me know if you have any questions or are interested!

Sorry - right now it is $6500 for the items you are interested in, but you get an entire car included in the deal!

If I part it out, I'll let you know, but for now it's all or nothing...The car's in Indiana, by the way...

Not to sound like I am being offensive, just wanna hyelp you sell this. You will need to come down on the price man....I don't care what KBB says you will not get that for the car...neons have crappy resale values. It sucks but thats a fact of life unfortunately. Not to mention there is a turbo'ed 03 for 7 thousand. Part it out...you will probably get more. But I love that car man....I would buy it if the price were lower...and I had money...lol. Nice color.

Thanks for the input - I know the price is high for a 2000, but given that the car is a one owner, never wrecked, low mileage, loaded up vehicle that needs no major work (and very little minor work), I think the price is justifed. Nice Neons are few and far between in this area, and I'm not wanting to sell the car to someone who is simply looking for a cheap car to beat on. I've put lots of work in this car and have taken good care of it, and the price reflects it.
Like most cars that are for sale on the market, the price is negotiable, and I'm not in a rush to sell it. No way I'm gonna part out a car that is in perfect running order and isn't wrecked.
Thanks again for your input - no offense taken.

I didn't see ya, but I'm pretty sure that it was me since I was on my way to Leo from New Haven - via Maysville.... It's a small world.
I'm looking to get a $1000-$1500 project car of some sort - I'm dying to start doing some engine, body, and paint work. I never thought I would want to replace a reliable car that I like with an older car with problems, leaks, and rust (EEEEEK!). I've learned that I enjoy working on cars, getting my hands dirty, and the pleasure of doing something myself... I've thought about getting a LeBaron Convertible, maybe a beat up Miata, but it will be tough finding a solid foundation for the money I want to spend. I'll be sure to let you know what I find when I make the move....

Well, the Neon sold about 3 weeks ago, and I've got a new ride now. It's a 1997 Caddy Seville SLS - I picked her up for $2000. It leaks a bit and needs some work, but is exactly what I was looking for... It was sad to see the Neon drive away, but I know it went to a good home. Anywho...here's the new ride...
