And yes... I still have my black car.

Phil (evlneon) has come up with the idea of what to call each other. Black = Diablo and White = Angel ... not a bad idea since ones black and ones white.

Didn't come swapped... I picked both cars seperately... wrecked SRT came from St. Louis... R/T came from New Jersey. Gave me and my dad something to do for awhile and it's still not done. Srt was about 4K and the R/T was around the 7K mark. It's nice having 2 cars though... now I don't have to worry about the black one like I used to since the black one has become a true garage queen. This one has more or less turned into my beater if you want to call it that

damn man fuckin awesome!!! srt'd r/t and i love the white!!!! i had a feeling you had somethin up your sleeve when you were giving me all this srt swap info hahahaha

p.s when you mounted the radiator overflow can did you have a problem with the brake lines causing it to sit nice against the firewall? and i am scared to tap new holes for when i put mine in becasue i dont wanna drill into anything since there isnt really a way to see on teh other side. should i not worry about this? either way congrats on the accomplishment it looks fuckin sweet!!! you give me inspiration and hope :D

... yeah I was wondering if you might catch on but I figured I'd give you some tips. I have a pic here somewhere of a strait on shot of the overflow tank... best i remember it doesn't hit the lines at all... you do need to swap out the fuel line though since the neon fuel line comes out at a diffrent angle than the SRT so having the neon line wont' allow you to mount the bottle to the firewall in the correct place.

I knew it. Dang. That is a beautiful car. Everyone always uses the drool icon... you know ...but I actually, literally salivated. Wow.

You now have the classic "devil on one shoulder, angel on the other"

You should photoshop a pic of yourself with one car on each shoulder...and a quizzical expression on your face....like "geez, I just can't decide."

For anyone that wants to do this... at first I thought i might have gotten in over my head expecially after I started tearing down a perfectly good working R/T :-( but then as things went on it was actually pretty fun and you learn a lot! By the time you're done you seem to know almost all the differences between the little parts on the SRT and regular 2.0L neon. Quite a fun project!

Oh... and it's nice to drive around a car that no one really pays any attention to haha... not like the Black R/T

Of course! So that's where the extra R/T goodies came from....intake manifold, etc.

And yes, I would cringe also. Are you holding on to basically all the stock parts from the white R/T?

Not really... I already bought an Intake Mani last year to be ported... I do plan on holding onto some of the parts for now like the engine and tranny incase later on I wanna work on them for the black car or worse case something breaks on the black car. I do have some SRT parts though that hopefully in a few months I'll try to get rid of... like a black trunk lid, some interior pieces... carpet... stuff like that. But I first want to completely finish the project before I go selling something and then turn around and wish I hadn't.

Right now... the white since well... it's not the cleanest car by that I mean the paint isn't as spotless as the black car. And it's rockin the nice soft stock suspension and uber quiet exhaust so cruising around is nice and comfy. I also need to make sure everything is running right and have everything settle then in a few weeks I'll jack it back up and check all the bolts like to the suspension and k-frame to makes sure they haven't loosened... just to be on the safe side.

Cool. I guess I didn't know how long you'd had the white car before starting the swap...and thought maybe you'd had it for quite a while.

I picked the white car up about mid October and just been working on the swap on weekends, and after work. I also took a week off work and worked on it the whole time from about noon to 11pm the whole week just pulling the motor, swapping the SRT in, cutting the core support for the FMIC, little things here and there. Not really a hard job... just a lot of things here and there.

See...there are benefits to not having a significant other! My fiance wouldn't stand for such a thing. Honestly, there are only two reasons why my car isn't very far along it's journey. 1) A lack of time spent on the correct side of the state (my parents where garage and tools are). 2) When I am back, all my time includes her. But hey, I guess I shouldn't complain. Back on topic! Bad Dave!

The swap sounds like it was a good time all around...learned alot, got a lot of SRT-4 education, and surprised the crap out of a lot of 2gn.org members. 8)

... Yeah that is a downside so you've gotta find someone that's into working on cars just as much as you are and understand why you work on a "neon" lol... those girls are few and far between though.

... yeah this is pretty funny  But yeah it was a blast... still is though and I still have a few things here and there to fix like some codes and some other things.

If anyone has any questions... feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer them while stuff is still somewhat fresh in my head.

werd congrats again!!! im gonna have to agree with you on how doing the swap is pretty fun. i havent finished yet but so far just pulling out the stuff and learining the differences between the srt and reg neon is pretty cool. im doin it like you did. just really working on it during weekends and after school/work and stuff...oh yeah and if you figure out how to fix that NVLD code that you mentioned before me hit me up with the fix. or if i find out about it vice versa. having that code didnt affect the way it drives does it?
