The shaking break pedal!

Post by MyNeonSaysHi » Thu Dec 08, 2005 1:17 pm

It just snowed like a bitch the other day. I go to warm up my car for a good 10 minutes and when I get in and go off to make some errands I notice when I hit the brake pedal, it starts to go in and out really fast.... I thought this was very weird. So I thought it would go away after driving around a bit. It didn't. The good part is that I can still stop, its just this pumping sensation on my brake. I ended up checking out my wheels and there was ice caked up in the wheel well. So I knocked that shit off and its fine now. Anyone had this problem

You're sliding when you're braking.

Do you have rear discs? If so it's the ABS doing its thing.

Nah I got drums on the rear. But once I got that packed ice out of my front tires it was gone, and I could hit my brakes on the snow and it stopped shaking like that.

well if you have ice frozen on the inside of your wheel then it throws the wheel out of balance so spinning it causes shaking

:happy2: we have a winner... ^ that right there is the cause of the shaking. mine does it too after the wheels get caked with snow and slush.
