Rear side markers

Post by C1DoG » Wed Dec 15, 2010 4:05 pm

I have looked in the how to and found nothing so I am asking here. Has anyone done the side marker turned blinker bit on the rear sides of 03 or newer neons? I am thinking of doing it.

What part are you talking about exactly? There aren't any side markers on the rear of the car?

Not on my SXT. I wanted to do something like I have in the front.

Exactly... Now to figure out how to wire them up and what to use. Might go with an led type flush mounted.

Skip the grommets and flush mount them.

You would need to do a variation of the reverse blinker mod, to keep them from coming on with the brake lights.

Yeah I want them to do the same as the front. I have clear markers for the front.

Basically, you need to tie into the front turn wiring at the MFS, and run the wires to the rear side markers, if you don't want to do the reverse light blinker mod. LED's shouldn't give you MFS switch/wiring headaches.

You could just use the red led in the clear marker to keep them clear front/rear. IDK if four 194 bulbs would melt the MFS, as they sometimes melt without mods.

your rear sidemarkers are just a bend in the rear reflector.
and so they already blink...

But - if you have the LED taillights: they have 2 extra side marker LEDs.

But he want's to add extras in the rear fascia, or quarter panel. I'm assuming fascia.

Thank you for the idea... :D I don't want to mess with the rear lighting at all and that little tidbit will work. Make a template to cut out part of the section I need and then install clear markers in the side of the rear fascia also.

I haven't done it on my side marker. I want to have it on front not on the rear.
