Installing a camber kit
Installing a camber kit
Can any body explain or post up a how to on what is involved and how to install a camber kit.

Pretty much its just a bolt. Take the old bolt off put the new one in. Sometimes it goes on the top bolt or bottom one.
The shop will let you know. Then again I messed with camber bolts way too much back with the other neon. I can tell you its pretty much stupid because it only offers little adjustment of camber..honestly if you don't drive much then drive with whatever camber u got rite now.
I have my camber at -2 when my 17s are on. I didn't notice much tire wear because I only drove like 150miles & that's every 2 weeks.
Anyways to my original point.. its a hassle to mess with camber bolts & I say that from experience cause I used to do my own alignments.

My 2 cents...
Depends on the kit, but the basics is that you have to drill out strut mounting hole a bit where it attaches to the hub and install a disk that has a hole offcenter. This disk is your camber adjustment. Turn the disk and you adjust your camber. I didn't like the idea of enlarging the hole on the strut so I didn't put any on. It's not really worthwhile though unless you’re racing a lot on a racetrack. You will get increased tire wear and most people never really corner hard enough to justify putting them in IMO unless you are going for the bling factor.
Not much is needed really in experience or tools from what I remember, just an accurate way to enlarge the hole on your struts and some wrenches.

^Most people do it once the put lowering springs on their neon so that they can get an alignment with stock specs again.
Kits for the neon are camber (crash) bolts. They are smaller than the stock bolts that hold the strut to the hub. A small portion of the bolt has an offset cam lobe which will fill up the hole. This allows for the adjustment. No drilling involved.

Unless you mean camber plates, but that is much more involved, not to mention expensive.

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.
