neon won't start

Post by unc-newbie » Thu Dec 23, 2010 7:00 pm

I just went to start my neon and it won't turn over, nothing. I took the battery out and had it tested and it tested good. Starter, alternator and battery all less than 6 months old. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance!!

Starter relay? Or the PCM isn't grounding the relay coil, due to not getting the proper input from NS switch, or clutch pedal, depending on trans type.

Sorry for the late response. It ended up being the battery Terminal connectors. The 2 screws that hold the wires in place for both the positive and negative were loose. So I replaced both terminals, cause they didn't look so hot, and everything is running smooth. This even fixed a lag I was having with my Starter when starting the car.

Thanks for the quick responses. I work nights and hadn't been to bed all night and as soon as I got my car fixed I went home and went to bed.

The crazy thing is I took it to 2 shops and they did some kind of electrical test and said I prob got a bad starter out of the box when I replaced the one I had. When I fixed the problem, thanks to you guys on the forum, I just laughed at it cause it ran $35 for each test.
