Looks great, and yeah some curves can be tricky but heat is your friend.speed127 wrote:/\ LOL 1 nice thing about di-noc is you can just peel it off and the piece underneath is just fine. So think of it this way: I'm putting a protective covering on my CF pieces so they will not get damaged.
BTW hear are some I've done in the past day or so. And some of the curves on these have been VERY difficult

1 word of warning about heat.. take it easy and heat it slowly. Don't get it too hot or you will actually start to melt the pattern.

Yeah I used a hair dryer instead of a heat gun cause it slowly brought the heat up in the material. Just add heat and pull on the material where you want it to go and as it heats up it will just flow out and go onto the part without and bubbles or wrinkles. This stuff is very forgiving and after a little practice it is so easy to work with.
The HVAC bezel was the hardest cause of how many different contours and curves there were but once you get the hang of it, it becomes pretty easy.

I looked for your "How-to" and could not find it.. I contacted pennon though for the fabric. This is going to be something I do later on down the road. Looks good, I rather real cf than the fake stuff. Pennon said to me to use epoxy not resin if you want to make use of the weaved fibers. Do you think epoxy would make it a less glossy finish? I don't personally like the overally shiny stuff. Shinier than my CF hood lol

Here is my how-to...

As for the epoxy, they probably mean strength-wise... resin weakens CF and they build race cars... For cosmetic use, resin is what you want to use. If you want it less glossy just sand the resin with a slight abrasive sandpaper.
