My new daily

Post by thttxboy » Sun Jan 16, 2011 9:59 pm

So I bought Liz's 01 R/T. I new she was having issues with it and I new I could most likely fix it. My main reason for purchasing this car was because its white.... yup I just wanted a white neon. I already had a silver neon that is perfectly fine I just wanted a white one. So I planned my trip and flew up there Jan 2 and Drove it home. On my 10 hour drive home I did not have a single issue. I new I had some work to do, but luckily it wasnt all that bad. Heres how the car looked when I picked her up
Image

First thing I did was give her a 4 hr bath. In the process of doing that I found out that the fog lights were um not rite. I pulled the lens off both fog lights by hand, and the housing were had no reflective area left so I decided to black them out. After that I fixed a few issues like wrong bolt here and this is missing and ect ect ect. Well heres how the car looks at the moment.

oh First here are the pics of the fog lights after I re did them.

Now the car

I have now put 1100 miles on the car since ive owned it and not a single issue with the the car not starting. I have had a issue with the lights. The plug behind the steering wheel is melted pretty bad so Ill have to buy a new one from the dealer. I traded Chris (hul kogan) the silver stones that were on the car for his Fat fives. I think so far she looks good.

STEVEN call me sometime cock smuggler. And yes the car does seem to like me lol, but I never meet a neon that can resist this Juan. I do have a set off srt side skirts but no door caps and their silver, I dunno if i can find a cheap set of r/t skirts ill put them on. I'm just glad I finally have a white neon lol. white is the fastest color you know.

I just went to lowes and bought a metallic black paint and sprayed them with that, nothing special. I know the fogs arnt gonna be that functional any more but at least they look better.

Make sure you replace the MFS with the connector, if you only replace the connector it will melt again in no time... I have tried it with both my car and my sisters car and both immediately melted the new connector, as soon as I replaced the MFS and the connector it was fine...

I can just make out some OE tail lights on there now. Wonder where those came from :-k

And the real reason Juan picked the car up? He wanted to have a twin for mine
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

John: according to my 2 yr old nephew it is your car. Every time I pull up and go in the house first thing he says is "johns car". hes not gonna understand the day you come over and you have 2 cars parked outside. lol

Wait, what skirts were on there? I may want them.

Nice pick up, did you "fix" the no-start problem or it just hasn't come up yet?

If you look up at the first picture it has the side skirts on that were on the car. And I have not had the car give me one issue with not starting.

Ahh, missed it in that pic. So you're not worried about the no start until it acts up, makes sense.

PM me what you want for those skirts?

If you're willing to ship them and Sean doesn't want them I'll consider them depending on what you want for em.
