I know you have been busting your self getting the car pc going, well apparently Chrysler is now going that route using a touch screen interface to control Audio, Climate, and Customer preferences....
Vid above is from a new Dodge Journey in shipping mode

That has got to be a bitch while driving. My step brother's Acura controls the A/C through the touch nav and it's a bitch to use.

Well, just noticing the few times you had to double-tap to get it to read makes me think it'll be an annoyance.

Also consider I was viewing through my phone, so hand and eye was not in sync...

I bet within two weeks the driver will get use to it. But that's the same with any piece of technology. Took me two weeks to adjust to my Droid after my Razor.

It still looks easier then BMW's iDrive or Benz's Command interfaces. I suspect a lot of theft of these units. The Dodge dealership I used to work at had at least two cars a week for RBZ replacements when they were new.

My Prius has similar controls for HVAC and audio. You get used to it after a while. I do wish it had sliders instead of buttons. Like for temp, when I get in the car in the morning I'd rather slide from low to high than have to push the button to go from 65* to 85*
