neon vs. civic....

Post by blueneo03 » Tue Jan 18, 2011 11:36 pm

so no racing or anything... but just a thing...

so as some of you may know i crashed my neon.. since then i have been driving my girlfriends 07 auto civic 4 door.... and in all honestly its faster than my neon, however the power feels flat and it just kinda like no backbone at all...

so why is this..? why does it suck...

lack of torque most likely, our cars and majority of hondas. Plus it being an auto is no fun :(

Google says 140 hp 128 tq, 2,875 pounds curb weight. Versus like 132 hp 130 tourque and a 1,171 pd curb weight. Seems like a big difference in weight to me?

Did not seem very 2GN Neon related... more Civic related. IE: Off Topic

:P

07 Auto Civic..that's gotta be pretty darn slow.

132hp, 130ft/lbs, and 1,171 lbs weight? I think you need to check up on your facts.

You're probably just noticing a lack of torque, but yeah, they're still damn slow.

I did a quick google search and the first time I found for a stock 07 automatic civic was a 16.8.

I would think a Neon would be somewhat comparable to that... and to consider 16s fast...

My Corolla is probably that fast and I KNOW my truck was faster than that... lol.

Wait until you get something fast.

^^Totally agree with you John.

I think my car is slow and last time I had it out it went 12.7 in the 1/4. My neon's best time was 13.7 but it felt ten times faster on the butt dyno because it was lighter and had more of an abrupt torque curve. The G force curve is different between cars for obvious reasons.

Where on google did you find 1100lbs for the weight?

This is for a 06+ Civic
Curb weight 2,886 lb (1,309 kg) (coupe)
2945 (sedan)
