anonym.to?

Just out of curiosity, why do a great deal of the links on this forum go through anonym.to? Sure, it blocks forum.2gn.org as the "referer" of the webpage (by making anonym.to "click" on it), but why do we need that? Do other web sites commit those kinds of netiquette offenses against us that necessitate such a thing?

Coming from the person that as soon as a b00b pops up on the screen he has to run 5 adaware scans then his virus scan.
