head swapping nd engine build Q's

i was planning on doing a DOHC swap on the neon, although, this would be a very great endeavor to do, im just too lazy. So heres the story:

water pump seizes, snaps timing belt, replaced the timing belt nd water pump, nd i guess one of the valves were bent. drives for quite some time, then BOOM!!! its done VALVES LOCK. So now im here, thinking perfect timing for DOHC swap, but then the lazy part of me convinces to just swap the head for another SOHC nd load it with a shit load of bolt ons. so here's a list ive been formulating any suggestions (i know many of you will say DOHC, but eh... ) will be greatfully appreciated.

1. SOHC head
2. Mopar HeadGasket set
3. Tensioner from a 2004
4. Camshaft seal
5. AEM Cam Gear
6. which UDP MPX or Ebay?
7. Lorenzo ODP
8. MPX or Lorenzo throttle body
9. DIY ghetto blaster?
10. what is the advantage of COP?

since, i am at the point of basically a rebuild. What else should be taken to attention at this point since the head is coming off?

as far as gaskets/seals go, just buy a top end gasket set. It will come with everything you need. Pick up a set of head bolts while youre at it. unless you've got a large system i wouldnt worry with an ODP, and as far as the UDP goes what do you want MPX= quality ebay= cheap, they bother provide the same performance really. Everything else looks good really.

A COP really wont help anything on a bolt on car using a stock ecu, but it looks cool about the only thing i can think of is if one coil goes bad you only replace 1 vs a whole coilpack

If you're staying SOHC, go with a Magnum head, if you can get one. IIRC, there were/are a few on the boards. A 400 comp cam will help out too. Modern has Crane cams available also.

A ghetto blaster set up like mine will allow you to bolt a Mustang TB directly to the IM, but then again, the lazy part of you wouldn't like the Ghetto blaster route.

rod just do the 2.4 swap you will have much more power and torque and with the bolt ons you will have a really fun daily driver

LOL, actually ive seen the DIY for it nd was interested on making one, but i'll prolly grab one from the junkyard first as "practice". comp400 camshaft? hmmm.... prolly get that too.

r/t guy: i guess, quality is better, i guess... yeah modern has the HG set for like 80bucks, cheaper than autozone. yeah that COP does look cool... eh, may just pick up a MSD than, unless i get i really bored nd decide to DIY a COP.

it will all be bolt on just drop the 2.4 in swap a couple wires and done it will have more power stock than a bolt on sohc and you can still keep your ps
