MOPAR performance parts

Post by DuhNeon179 » Thu Feb 24, 2011 8:52 pm

Anybody know a good site to get MOPAR performance parts? I have a friend (more like a non blood related cousin if that makes sense) who just recently got his license and decided to get a Intrepid '04, his father is a FORD man though but I don't know any decent sites other then e-bay lol. Just wondering if anyone else knew....I would like to know some myself it's about time I do something with my engine then keep it stock :tardbang:

You probably won't find high performance parts for Intrepids.

Especially if it has the 2.7 engine.

If it has a 2.7 he'll be lucky if it RUNS and doesnt blow up. That motor is horrible.

If he has the 2.7, advise he buys several cases of oil to keep the engine topped up after every drive lol.

All of the above statements are very true.

We still haven't answered this part of his question.

EDITED to correct spelling.

The answer would be any Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep dealer. Places like Mopar Supercenter tend to have the best prices though. Get a Mopar Performance catalog and do a search for the part number you are interested in. That is the easiest way to find the best price.

But as it was said before, Mopar does not offer any performance parts for the Intrepid.

The bitch is, most of what MPX offers for the 2.0 is outdone by Comp Cams or Crane. As for turbo upgrades most have been discontinued.

Takes a while, so be patient. If opened in windows IE it can be saved to your PC.

That was going to be my answer as well but I figured that people on here would know of places where the prices might be better.

Depending on the engine, he could transplant the 3.5 H.O. and transaxle for an upgrade, but it would be expensive. PCM etc would need to be swapped along with the other related items to make it a smooth transplant.

Not sure what it would take to swap in a hemi, they are all LH platform, but that doesn't mean it would be an "easy" swap.

All neons are PL platform, and well you get the point...

I've owned 2 Intrepids with the 3.5 liter engine, both great cars. The one Intrepid we had with 2.7 liter engine felt underpowered. There were some "new cars" like the Chrysler 300
and Dodge Chargers with 2.7 liter engines. They're even heavier than the FWD cars built from 1993 thru 2004; I bet they give the term "sluggish" a whole new meaning

Yep, usually the cost of rebuild, or swapping is more than their value. Rebuilding is risky, as most won't last.
