XM Radio
I tried doing a search and found nothing...
I am getting an XM Radio for Xmas and was wondering if there is an auxillary input for the stock HU. I was hoping to hard ware it in instead of using the FM Modulator.
I was thinking that I could some how rig it since my Head Unit is compatible with the optional cd changer.
I have very little experience but have swapped a couple of head unit before.
Thanks in advance.

most likely, you'll have to get the fm modulator or a docking unit.
my HU is a kenwood and was sirius ready, so it was just a plug and play thing for me, plus with sirius, you can listen while being on line on the computer. i don't know if you can do the same with XM

Yeah, if you have a unit (aftermarket) and it's "satellite ready" you still need some module or antenna. I got a pioneer and I need the sirius pioneer antenna. It's not very difficult to install. It costs like a 100 bucks though. I didn't wind up getting it because I got the portable one for christmas--but I'm not supposed to know that lol.

On the stock HU you can't since there isn't an input... there is a Mopar Sirius radi o kit which I have for my Navi unit... works great.
Sirius is better anyway

which xm radio are you getting. if you are getting a roady then you dont need to have an aux plug. they have built in fm modulators that work very well. when i get some time after xmas i am might create a how to for running the antenna. its really easy its just that its easier to show in pictures. if you want to see pics of my setup i have to direct you to a thread on neons.org ill post the link if interested.
edit: there may be other xm radios that have the fm modulator. and you can also listen to xm online. i can guide you through the install if you want.

yes you can but you need an adapter the roady is a needs 6v i tried to directly wire it without stepping down the voltage, i got lucky i didnt fry my roady. i didnt realize it only needed 6v. here is a link to the adapter you would need if you use it: http://www.myradiostore.us/power-access ... apter.html double check it is the right one before you buy it in the even you do get it. it really cleans up the area nice.
this is what mine looks like

edit: if you need any help with the install shoot me a pm, email or hit me up on aim.
