Cluster Pin out

Post by sunburnedaz » Thu Mar 17, 2011 7:33 pm

What is the pin out on the cluster. I want to power up the SRT-4 gauge cluster I found at the bone yard but I dont feel like taking apart the dash just to plunk it in.

dude, it's not that hard to swap them. Why do you want to power it up, just use it. However, if I'm not mistaking there are some tweaking you have to do to get rid of the "E-brake" light or something. As I was saying, it's not hard to swap them. Just need a screw driver. Pull your a-pillar down on the drivers side. Remove the phillips screw holding the dash cover down to the dash. Pop it up and remove the bottom trim from the cluster. Remove the four screws holding the cluster in, believe they are torq screws. Best to do it the proper way oppose to trying to figure out the pin out for positive and ground and risk shorting something out... imo anyways.

I think he just wants to see if it works or not before he puts it in? haha

That may be so and you're probably absolutely correct. However if he happens to put +to one of the wrong pins he could ensure for sure that it does NOT work. I mean 99% sure the cluster is fine but I could be wrong.

Best to take your time and do it the right way the first time no matter what it is. Especially when it comes to electrical. Say and if it does work than he's only going have to switch it anyways :P
