Morimoto Projector Question

Post by BigDutch » Tue Mar 22, 2011 9:12 am

I am hoping someone can help me with this. I have a set BI-XENON MORIMOTO MINI STAGE III (D2S) projectors I am retrofitting. However there is no indication on the housing or anywhere on which side is Up? :banghead:

I do not want to sinch everything up with the projector upside down. Can anyone help with this?

Much Appreciated,
Jordan

The shield (inside the projector) goes on the bottom.

Quick question about that... why would it be at the bottom?

I would think that it would be at the top for the high beam effect?

if you look through the projector from the back you will see everything is upside down LOL...it has to do with the ball of glass if Im not mistaken it makes the light do a 180 spin!!

Yep, just like what Mike said. If you mount it at the top your cutoff will be on the bottom and the light above it (backwards).

Another Question....

What LED would you recommend for the Demon Eye?

I have a typical blue LED available to me, however I am unsure because of the heat from the HID that it might melt the casing around the LED?

Any suggestions?

I think he got it.

If you want a good example, get a magnifying glass, and go to the opposite wall of a room from the windows. Focus the image of the windows on the wall. The image will be upside down.

All LEDs hate heat, but you can use any type you want to get the look you're going for.

Old thread but for anyone with this exact question - isopropyl alcohol works the best. Either use the alcohol wipes or a bottle of isopropyl with lint-free cloth to safely clean the headlamp and HID bulb glass.
