SRT-D vs R/T appearance

Got a question on outside appearance modifications. Questions about body kits, exterior lighting, just anything thats a visual mod on the "exterior" of the car. Ask those questions here.

SRT-D vs R/T appearance

Post by Chris.augusta » Sat Apr 02, 2011 10:09 am

Ok so I bought a srt-d bumper a month or so ago even lucked up and get it in my car color. But now I'm starting to like some of the members 02 r/ts with lips. So I'm torn between r/t bumper or srt-d.

Srt-d Downside - still have to buy headlights, hood and fog light harness

R/t downside - can't find them anywhere and I can forget about lucking out in my color.

Thoughts? Opinions?

(side note) I'd rather get something that I didn't have to paint because my ride already needs a spray but I'm saving up for a motor swap.

Worry about the motor swap, then decide on what direction you want to go for looks.

Which would be easier to come across - srt hood painted for a decent price or an rt bumper? I'm waiting to do the motor swap in the fall so I dont have to put miles on my mazda3

Here , here . =D>

Now I'm not sure of your personal Time frame, but I would Do the
Motor & supporting mods before any type of Exterior Body work .

Now having said that ' How does your engine bay look ?

Should it be painted ? Do you have Bolt holes , scratches , thin
paint , Factory seam glue (tar) , etc ?

Personally ....... I would start a build plan , on paper .
That is if you plan on Keeping it . But to each his own .

There is not much worse than a Sweet looking neon from the outside ...... then you pop the hood and it's filthy . Then to find
out the the Engine bay was empty while the Engine was being built & could have been done. It's just a shame , that's all .

But this opinion is one of an Enthusiast , not a general consensus.

Good luck with your Build . 8)

No more than like 200 because I've priced cf hoods for around 500 but I'm not sure how the fitment is.

What ? Who's hating ? I'm too old to Hate . I have valid points.
It takes less time to do something right ,than it does to explain why you didn't .

An SRT hood will be far easier to find. A paint matched '01/'02 R/T bumper will prolly cost more. Plus you need the grill, and emblem. More $
