Car title info?
I just got the title to my car the other day and wanted to get some feedback from those of you who have paid your cars off lately.
Mine came with my name listed as primary, but the bank's name as leinholder, but they signed off on the title. Did your bank transfer the title to your name only for you or was yours this way too?
Also, just an FYI to anybody paying off a loan in IL... it's fucking $95 to remove a leinholder from a title!!! (or do anything else with a title as it was explained to me on the phone a few minutes ago) Fucking ripoff.

They sent all of the information I need to get them off the title and claim that "it's normal business" to do it that way.
BTW, everybody NEVER EVER EVER EVER do business with Americredit. They have tried to fuck me ever since they first did. (my fault, I never should have signed a 19.75% APR paper)

Is $95 the normal titling fee in IL?

So IL is making you retitle to remove a lien holder.
That's shitty, but it isn't the banks fault on this one.

I just hang on to the lien release (usually I staple it to the title) until I sell the car. It makes no difference as long as you have the original release (not a copy of it)...
I've never seen a point in retitling it just to get the text on the title that says "no liens recorded"... Wasted money IMO.

I used to title transfer cars all day. They're all like that.
It lists you as the owner, but them as the leinholder. If you were paying it off to two company's, there'd be another company listed under second leinholder. Once you're done paying it off they usually stamp it saying something along the lines of Lein Released with a date and a signature from someone at the bank. It's now legally in your name, they just don't go through the hassle of reprinting another one. It won't be an issue if you sell the car or anything.
All my info is based on mostly PA, NJ, NY, and MD titles, but they're all basically the same thing just in different colors and shapes.

All the banks I've used in Ohio have sent me a clean title. But then I'm sure the fees are included up front in the loan, and you pay interest on that for w/e the loan term is. Plus you usually wait a few weeks to get the title after you pay in full, as they have to send it to the title bureau, then it goes back to the bank, etc., etc. So in the end, $95 is prolly cheaper.
Or if the bank is local, you can make an appointment, and pay the last payment and they release the title to you, and you take care of it. Depends on how fast you need the title.

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.
