Are my vaccum lines right? (with diagram)

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

Are my vaccum lines right? (with diagram)

Post by Mopar65 » Sat Apr 16, 2011 1:04 pm

Hey guys I've searched and seen the sticky with the proper way to hook up the vacuum lines (realtune diagram), but I think the previous owner did it super wrong. So here is my version of their diagram, but with the way my lines are hooked up in my 03 SRT. Anywhere there is not a line coming off the solenoid it is because they isn't one in my car. The red line one TIP solenoid has been capped. Here is the stick by the way: http://www.srtforums.com/forums/f250/st ... re-333388/ Thanks for the help guys.

That looks like it would be perfectly functional as long as you are on a S0/S2 wastegate.

Yeah it's the stock WGA, but someone suggested the red line should go into the BOV hard pipe...

Only if the car is stock, capping it solves a few PCM related issues with boost over 18.25psi and having the BOV located on the coldside pipe.

The PCM uses the redline information to adjust the WG solenoid, if you are having issues with part throttle surging then I would hook it back up, if not then leave it alone its probably solving problems you didnt even know you had.

Yeah I thought of that, but the car is not boosting properly at all. There are no leaks, the turbo has not play in it, and from what I can tell the WGA is fine. I took it off and the arm was easy to move so maybe this will solve the problems...

It kind of stumbles when I boost, it's also tempermental at times. I'll be in 2nd gear at 3k and floor it until redline with no boost and other times it is super boost happy. Other times when I'm going into boost it spools up losses it then spools up again, it's kind of hard to describe, but the turbo is fine and the WGA seems ok as well
