Noticed this on the drivers side yesterday while replacing my exhaust manifold. Shouldn't there be a bolt or a nut here or something?

Ummmm...yeah. The bolt (endlink) is missing. Not good

If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

Jeez. Who know how long it's been like that for! So it's called an end link bolt?

You could get a new bolt and nut from a dealer. I'm not sure if a parts store would sell just the bolt and nut seprately or if they would sell it as a kit. You could also upgrade to some ES endlinks.

Dont get energy suspension endlinks, there are designed poorly, like their lca bushings. Nothing but trouble.

I would recommend replacing both at the same time. Might be time for all new bushings all around, If that link broke I can only imagine what the rest of the suspension looks like.

Wasn't trying to be an ass, I just have had a horrible time with them failing on me and not holding up to their own designs. I just found a serious flaw in their design for the endlink which answers why its been a bitch to balance my car... Not sure what I'm going to do right now in regards to that since I just got the car balanced last month... Ugh

No offense taken John. I know there have been plenty of issues with ES stuff as of late.

Seems I'm getting to be champion of "dead threads" lately. Please forgive me all, but I am pretty new to Neons, and am learning from everyone here that will give me honest, non sarcastic input.
On the topic of end links (this thread), I have been known to go to the hardware store, buy grade eight bolts of the approximate dimensions, use old shock absorber washers and homemade teflon bushings to build my own end links. A lot of aviation places throw out scraps of teflon, and I still have some laying around that I use for different things.
To cut the bushings, I use a common hole saw mounted in my drill press and then use my belt sander to clean up the outside edges. Different thicknesses or stacked layers vary the return rate.
For the separator tube, I use regular mild steel tubing belled on the ends with my tubing flare kit.
I guess that I am cheap and from old school where hot rodding meant investigating things with an eye toward improving them in some way. Just like most of the rest of us on this board.
If you can see the entire exhaust system while standing upright, you're either under a lift or you've done something wrong.
