Humming on start and sometimes while driving
When I start the car, I hear a sort of hum for a couple seconds. You can also hear it from time to time when cruising and slowing down.
I really have no idea how to explain it. I'll try to get a video up sometime soon, but I doubt my camera will catch it. Any ideas?

Thanks guys
This. Unless you have a crazy engine build planned, an aftermarket pump isn't worth a damn. They're less reliable than OE ones too, from what I've heard.acr wrote:stock will do just fine.

Stock will do, like they say...however, it's actually cheaper to get a Walbro 255. Unless you can find a stock pump for $90.
BUT! Don't go pulling the pump to replace it just because it's making a little noise. They can be noisy and work for a LONG time.....

I'll see how it plays out the next couple of days. thanks for the inputquicksilvr wrote:Stock will do, like they say...however, it's actually cheaper to get a Walbro 255. no offense but you're driving the wrong car if little rattles and buzzes drive you crazy all the time. These were built cheaply and dont have the refinement of say...a cadillac. I've had to tell my wife the same thing with her neon, every time she hears a noise she thinks somethings broken. i'm like dear its a neon, it makes noises sometimes

The neon is like a Chrysler 300 compared to the eighties FWD cars. Those had rattles all over the place. In my Shadow, the steering wheel shook with every bump, and it rode like a truck, and gave the neon's 4x4 stance a run for it's money.
And FWIW, Walbro is the oem pump for a lot of cars. I know it is on the Sundance, not sure on the neon. The one in the Sundance has 145,000 miles, and 18 years of use. I think that is reliable enough.

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.

hahaha none taken my man. yeah I know it does, I've got that rod knock too sometimes when its cold. but I mean it wasn't there before, so I'd like to fix it -- the sound is annoying as hell. plus, he car has around 145000 KMs, and replacing it wouldnt hurt right? I mean it'sonly 90 bucks.r/tguy02 wrote:no offense but you're driving the wrong car if little rattles and buzzes drive you crazy all the time.
