help quick. Are all 00-05 Alternators the same?

As stated above. I gotta get a new alternator and just wanna make sure what years are compatible with my 02. Thanks guys.

no they are not. on sxt models made after may '05 the alt was upgraded to 120a.

its still the same casing.....

the only difference is total output...otherwise it's identicle.

As i stated in another thread...go with the PTNA alternator, it's a 125-130amp unit depending which manufacturer you go with...

it would be from an 04 PT NA i believe...i have one on my neon.

won't matter much if you get a bigger alt in the same case as they are all externally regulated by the ecm.

voltage is regulated by PCM...not amperage...

For a 'bolt-in', I *think* you will want to use a 2001-2002 PT Cruiser N/A (Naturally Aspirated) alternator.

I'll wait for NiteHawk to confirm.
