horrible bog on take-off
Ok so I was wondering if there is anyway to fix the horrible bog that I have on take-off. When I take off from a light, not really on it at all I usually have to hit the clutch about half way down to rev up to a higher rpm. I dont like hard take-offs, like Im launching at the strip. If Im leaving my neighborhood turning left and traffic is coming and I go to take off it just bogs about half way across the lane of traffic and thats when I hit it again to get up and go. So if anyone has any words of advice LMK please.

So it only does it when turning, and not a high g turn just a normal pulling away from a stop turn? Strange. If it was during hard cornering it could be blamed on oil build up in the IM from the PCV system. You may want to pull the bellows ( flex tube) from the IM and look in there, just for the sake of knowing if there is a more than normal amount of oil or other fluid lying in there. Like it runs out as soon as you pull the bellows off.

To be honest, I had this same problem before. Do you have a CEL (Check Engine Light) mine was my upstream o2 sensor. Mine never threw a code or anything (Oddly) but I took it out, sprayed with some brake cleaner and she ran perfect until it fouled up again. I then purchased a new one. So maybe try removing your upstream o2 sensor and cleaning it up. Shake it too, cause if I'm not mistaking a bad o2 sensor will have a little piece rattling on the inside of the tip, a good one will NOT.

The codes I got are ones for a small and very small evap leak and then the downstream o2 because I took it out for my wideband and dont have time to take it and have the extra bung welded in. I also got the vid today from taking off at a red light strait no turning at all Ill post it up tonight when I get home from work because Im running late lol

Well, I would get that evap leak fixed. Also, you may ruin your wideband sensor running it there. The wideband is just to measure a reading to your A/F gauge. The upstream o2 sensor is actually required for the car to run properly. This is because the car reads from the upstream o2 sensor and the computer adjusts itself based on those results. Having the wideband there, this cannot take place and it is only reading from your downstream. Atleast this is my understanding.oh3moparneon wrote:The codes I got are ones for a small and very small evap leak and then the downstream o2 because I took it out for my wideband and dont have time to take it and have the extra bung welded in. The wideband is not going to accurate by any means reading after the cat. Put the downstream o2 back in, and drive it for a while. The down stream is needed for long term fuel trim.
Unless the cat is gutted, the wideband is just a piece of useless hardware at the present time. It is not reading the A/F ratio as it comes out of the head. The cat will clean up any slightly rich readings.
I don't see the sensor being damaged, as it is basically the same as the downstream one. All o2 sensors from '03 and up are wideband. Not that it matters as far as being damaged from being in the wrong position.

Wouldn't it foul it up though?
Also couldn't he just disconnect the battery and hold the brake to reset everything in the ECU (After putting the factory o2 sensor back in)?
