I have to say I prefer the look over a caliber but at the same time, it is a ford. Also within the article I fear the power will be 'toned down' as they state Ford has a history of diluting the excellence of its European cars for the American market.
Only time will tell if this comes over to us relatively unchanged Power and appearance wise.

Heh, just because they blend the S and T doesn't mean it's an STi ripoff. And those wheels aren't even similar...
Haven't seen an ST come through work, I didn't think they released it here in the states yet. I did hear that it was indeed coming with the ecoboost 2.0, which is good for 250hp. Since the car is still in testing, it's not yet available anywhere, including Europe. This is basically going to be the new RS, with all new everything. Should be a cool test drive when we start getting them in.
Oh and ad23dranger, Ford is as green as ever, they just happen to have some muscle to go along with it. Half the current models (not including trucks of course) are available Hybrid now, and the Focus is said to be available all-electric around the time the ST comes out.

No joke. Alright I'll give you that the designs are similar, but not anywhere near close enough to be worthy of mention IMO. Neon snowflakes, both old and new styles, follow the exact same design idea, with five main spokes and a gap where each meets the rim. That doesn't mean Lamborghini ripped off Dodge does it? I think you're thinking into it a bit too much

Well the RS is an upgraded version of the Focus ST. The current Focus ST has the same motor as the RS (2.5l 5 cylinder) but it only produces 225hp compared the RS which produces 300hp.OB wrote:This is basically going to be the new RS, with all new everything.
I'd imagine the new Focus ST will the same trim level as it is now, which is below the Focus RS. The new Focus ST gets a bump in power to 247hp, and they are no longer using the Volvo 5 cylinder. Makes me wonder what they're going to do with the RS.
We'll probably have to wait a bit for the new RS, the current iteration of the RS came out a couple years after the current version of the ST. But I'd imagine that America will never see the RS and it's Revo Knuckle suspension, which makes me a Sad Panda.

Although we might not see the RS ever, Ford is aiming at using the same model across the globe. It is probably a lot more cost effective. So whatever tweaks the Europe Fords will get, we could very well see them too. Assuming they pass our crash standards.
