What is the compatibility of a 2000 neon???

Post by greybox » Thu May 26, 2011 9:19 pm

So I hear that the 2000 is different than some years and the same as others.

So as far as body panels (bumper covers, headlights) how hard is it to add a 2003 or later setup?

I have read that a long tube header for a SOHC will fit all cars from 1995 to 2005 and other places it also says a short tube header will fit as well while others say the 2000-2005 are the same but before that is different? (I ask because I sometime see good deals on headers stating they fit the 1st gen SOHC 1995-1999)

Is there any interchangeability between exhausts for 1st gen and 2nd gen?

Anything performance that interchanges between 1st and 2nd gen?

Will an SRT4 tranny with the quaiffe diff bolt right into a 2000 with a 2.0 SOHC?

Thanks for any help.....

exhaust stuff: viewtopic.php?t=6983

The 1gn and 2gn exhaust to manifold is a different set up. The 1gn uses a spherical donut and two spring bolts. The 2gn uses a 4 bolt flange, and the flex is in the pipe.

The SRT MTX will bolt up, but it is a waste on a n/a 2.0 and it is heavier. Most stuff is the same between '00 and '01/02, just some wiring changes, and the clutch actuating set ups are different. The '00 basically had a little 1gn technology influence carried over in those areas.

thank you for the link and answers, helps considering that 200 is half way between in some cases.
