Stock radio with AUX jack?

Post by jonnymopar » Fri May 27, 2011 3:46 pm

Anybody got any info on this radio??

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TRUCK-OE ... ioQ5fVideo

I can just barely see it, but it looks like it says RBK in the lower left corner of the front face. I thought the RBK was just the basic single disc that practically every 02+ Neon came with??

It is a retro fit. There is a company on ebay that does these.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

The seller certainly doesn't seem to know much about spelling and grammar- let's hope that his knowledge of electronics is better.

Haha, yeah tell me about it.

Crap, ok so I guess I'm back to doing my own retrofit. I have it all drawn up already. Just gotta poke around inside the radio and get a datsheet for whatever amplifier IC is used.

Could also just do something like this:

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_469CHR2AUX ... tml?tp=422

That plus a 1/8" stereo to 2 RCA cord and you are in business.

I use my CD changer though, so I really don't want to lose it.

If I use a 1/8" dual-closed-circuit stereo jack installed inline with the preamp stage of the radio, it should work. The AUX jack would take priority over anything (ie. if you were playing a CD, listening to the radio, using the changer, etc, you could plug into the AUX jack at any time and that's the audio you would hear). I really want to do this to the CD player in the Daytona because it only plays burned CDs when it feels like it.

All his other auctions say that too, haha. I probably should have looked there before asking about this radio. Of all his other "unets", this one is the cleanest. The others ones look way awkward.

Nothing to kill the mood, like an awkward unet.
