Photoshoot with the B17 "Memphis Belle" 56k don't

Post by logikfive » Mon Jun 06, 2011 9:59 pm

Sorry to disappoint that this isn't a Neon related post, but I finally got a chance to do this. Since the B17 Memphis Belle was sitting at the airport where I work for the past month, and will be until the airport where it is kept dries up. We got so much rain that it's flooded that airport and they can't get this big bitch back there until it dries some.

I didn't have much time to edit, but here are a few pics I took. I have more but they need processing.

The B17 is the actual plane they used in the movie, and my car is a '76 Trans Am with a '73 nose, '79-81 wheel flares, and '78-81 WS6 snowflake rims. Took me 3 years to restore it from a basket case, I did all the mechanical work, body work and even painted it myself. Very happy with how she came out.

Wow, I actually like that car, usually not a firebird/trans am guy, but that front end actually looks very nice. Also, great backdrop posing with the real memphis belle.

Sweet ride! One of my favorites of all time!

I can't wait until they finish restoration of the Memphis Belle. I've yet to see it. Though, I guess I have a much larger connection to this one. This is one of the B-17's they used in the 1990 movie that turned me toward military aviation.

Were you able to get inside or just park next to it? I know the pilots can be picky.

Nice work on the car, it looks amazing. I really like the look of the 73 front end.

I know both of the pilots that fly it. I've been in it, several times.

Here are a few pics I took of it while I was in it a week or so ago.

I've got more but that was all I uploaded, since I didn't have anything but my iPhone on me.
