cluster question

so im driving home today and all of a sudden i see my MPH gauge tach out at 120, while im only driving about 25 mph...then it just shoots back down to zero and stays there and every now and then it will jump around..anyone have any idea's? its a 2002 mtx..HELP PLEASE!!!

my first thought would be a bad speed sensor. Second would be a short in the wiring to the speed sensor.

Or your PCI bus wire has a loose/bad connection somewhere.

Weird, because as soon as I read this mine did it to me on the freeway. All the gauges dropped to zero and then the air bag light came on for 5 secs. You freaked me out. Hope this isnt a big problem
