Hgill12 Neon Build: Parts so far..

Post by haseebgill12 » Tue Jun 14, 2011 7:22 pm

Hey guys.
I got bored so i thought i would start my project log..

Ok so I currently do not actually have my car, i can afford the car that's not an issue, its the damn insurance, nearly 5 or 6x the price of the car (ridiculous right?) anyway I'll get round this issue in the next couple of months so all the parts will be smacked on :) it'l be an 02 Chrysler Neon R/T.

So over the past few months I have been buying parts for when I finally do get my car..

I have three "stages" of modifications in mind.
1. Simple bolt ons (CAI etc.)
2. Boost on stock bottom end. (first in the UK)
3. Boost on built bottom end.

I don't really care about cosmetics that much at the moment, but there should be a body kit between "stages" 2 and 3.

So here is what's going to go on at Stage 1...

NGK Iridium Spark Plugs (colder)
Image

MSD Ignition Coil
Image

Granatelli Spark Plug Wires
Image

Fidanza Cam Gear
Image
Image

MPX Halo Projectors (with blue krypton bulbs)
Image

I had to cut of the plugs and rewire them myself because American plugs are different from the UK.

Old pictures i installed them on my dads car

Ebay CAI (dont worry im NOT using the shitty springs in the pic)
Image

Ebay shifter (i really dont care if this is that good, because it was so cheap i can afford to just try it and not use it if it is crap)
Image

Gates Racing Timing Belt
Image
Image

Lol i don't know why i have a pic of this
Image

ES Shifter Base Bushings
Image

Booger Shift Linkage Bushings and MPX antenna

Image

R1 Concept Slotted and Drilled rotors

Front
Image

Rear
Image

Front Ceramic Pads
Image

Rear
Image

Tukico Blues
Front
Image

Rear
Image

I still need to get a 60mm TB and Eibach Sportline Springs.
I have other parts but i can't really remember everything lol

Ok here is what i have for "Stage 2" so far..

Turbo XS Bov
Image

AEM UEGO Air/Fuel Ratio Wideband Gauge & AEM Boost Gauge
Image
Image

ASP Neon Oil Kit (from Erick)

Image

Manual Boost Controller
Image

SRT4 Fuel Rail & Mopar Stage 1 Injectors
Image

MPX Coil Pack Heat Shield

Image

Walbro Fuel Pump
Image

Mopar Exhaust Mani Gasket
Image

This part replaces the top of the casing around the steering column right behind the steering wheel (i can't remember what it's called lol) and has two fully adjustable gauge pods..
Image

however the pods do slightly obstruct the stock gauge cluster so my solution is....Carbon Fibre Tach with shift light (don't rip on me lol it is to some extent needed)
Image

I have purchased the ASP manifold but as most of you know they have not been produced yet.

Turbo: Garrett GT3076r on its way.

I still need to get loads more obvious parts for the Turbo build, i cant be bothered listing them all (you guys know them anyway :))

I have nothing yet for "Stage 3"

so that's all for now.... will update when "Stage 1" Commences lol

Best list of purchased parts I've ever seen for somebody that doesn't have a Neon.

I bet you can't wait to get the car!

Also, I would recommend using either Tein S-Tech springs or Vogtland springs for your drop. Both ride waaaay better than the Eibach's. Also make sure you hang on to all your stock parts, especially stuff like your ignition coil. Half the time, stock ignition coils are better than the MSD ones. But the MSD looks cool, cause it's red.

Keep us updated!

thanks guys. Yeah Dave i will be sleeping with my car once its here! Thanks for the advice, i will hang on to my stock stuff just incase. I was only really going for the Eibach's because of the "big drop" in height. How low are the springs you mentioned?

i believe it is from ATI Racing, on Ebay. I think it was a little bit expensive but the build quality is amazing.

The Tein's would be close. Tokico blue HP's and Tein S Tech's are what is on the yellow car (see sig for a quick reference to stance)

The Vogtland's don't drop you quite as much, only about 1.5". But personally, with the correct sized tires, I like just the 1.5" static drop. For daily driving, everything I've heard from people that actually have them: the Eibach's are a bit uncomfortable. But you're right, they'll get you lower.

Yeah the yellow car sits well indeed, i like it.what size rims are those?....

hmm.... decisions, decisions....

the car will eventually be sitting on 18" TSW Thruxtons... so i don't know which springs would better suit.
