Ok, I'm remaking this thread because my other one was too drawn out, too complicated and just plain useless.
after some research and getting a bad email to contact harlan I've decided to fall back on the MSD switch since things seemed simpler and the switch is more well known and has more options.
I've come up with a diagram (a hodge-podge of the diagrams I've been looking at.) and I want to know if it will work. It's very simple and straight forward (at least to me)
will this work?

This may be a stoooopid question, but it's a free bump.....
Stooopid question:
I assume this is regarding control of the secondaries / actuating the secondary motor on an R/T intake, right ??

The title of the thread, had me wondering.....

No, that's won't work.
The MTV needs constant 12v power, and you switch the ground.

It all depends on what relay you buy. I can't tell you off the top of my head how it needs to be wired without seeing the actual relay. The only way I figured out how to do mine was to read the instructions on the specific relay package. The packaging that the relay comes in will tell you how it works. Just follow that.

That looks right Kev. You can switch the positive or negative side of the motor, doesn't matter. I prefer to use the summit racing switch since it's cheaper.

I still need to get a relay for mine...have no idea what to get or where to get it. I will have help wiring it up, just want to have all the parts ready to go.
I have the MSD 8696 and will not be using a WOT switch.
I have read the other stickies but have no idea about electronics. Just dont wanna fry my RPM Window Switch.

The relay footprint Kelevra posted is the same relay that switches the radiator fan. It is a very common relay. Most neons have two open positions in the PDC.
Any wiring kit (fog lights) that has pre crimped female slide terminals can have the insulation removed, and the terminals will snap in place into the slots. Then just wire as needed. The relay will slide into place, for a cleaner install.
The contact terminals/shoes for actual MTVhorn/fuel pump, etc. relay style are very hard to get, short of butchering another PDC.

PDC? What does that stand for?
I am guessing it is the little black box by the battery?
Thanks...I am

as far as electronics.
