STAGG Struts?

Post by 04R/T » Thu Jun 23, 2011 3:00 am

Anyone heard of these? I tried google and everyone's asking the same question.

I have a set of Koni inserts on order but who knows when, if ever, they will they show up. In the mean time the car has a blown strut on the rear and the others are weak, I need something, the car rides like crap. Depending on how much they charge to ship to Hawaii, I may try them.

$139 for a set of 4, I wonder if they'll last more than 6 months?

youd be better off getting a set of gr2's for a bit more $ maybe. A quick google found on a maxima forum said they cant handle more than a 1.5inch drop, and they blew out in 4-5months within 15k

havent seen any good reviews of em yet except for the random, "had em on for a month now"

quote " Just a little update, I saw this thread a while back and decided to try them, ordered all 4 and put in the 2 front ones in May.
The car is bone stock including the springs.
The're both blown as of a few days ago, the passenger side is worse than the drivers side.
So they lasted all of 4 months/15k km.
The're garbage as far as I'm concerned. It's a good thing the're 'sold out'

You're probably right, at $35 a strut I wouldn't expect to much. It might be a better idea to find a set of good used ones to keep from bouncing off the road until the Koni's show up..

I was reading up on them as well. I emailed them, telling them that jdmwerks (eBay seller) is selling your struts with Votgland springs, which the company advertises the car's drop at 1.6". I asked them if they would handle H&R Sport springs, which advertized drop is 1.5" front and 1.4" rear, as well as warranty the struts with those specific springs. I guess we'll see what they say. Oh yeah...most importantly...I asked if they had the tabs for cars with rear sway bars. If they don't, I'll go with KYB's. I don't want to mess with making brackets. I'd honestly like to try them out and make a review. If they come back with good things to say, I'll order 'em up. I'll be the damned guinea pig this time :)

Just an update...I tried emailing Stagg and the email never went through. I don't think I'd buy struts from a company that doesn't have a working email address, and that an email is the only way of communication...
