Ouch :( I think that with ti being a black car, the imperfectiosn stick out a lot too to you. It would to me as well.

Nathan has a guy down here in MD who charges very fairly and does amazing work....he's done fantastic work on several SRTs. If you're not too broke and want to try again, PM Passtschon and he'll get you his contact info.

Yep they sucked balls. I seen it at Carlisle, and the pics just don't show the half of it. I prolly could have done that good.

and OD...you didn't even see it CLEAN.....the blemishes pop out even worse when it's totally clean! that's part of the reason i didnt even bother cleaning the car at all :(

i don't live to far away from you and i could hook you up with a decent deal on a paint job if you can get ur cash out of them. 90% of what i saw was all sanding marks. i really hate body shops that do shitty work :cussing:

that's PA for ya.......

the one thing i definitely want is a heavy clear so it can be wetsanded and buffed smooth....

i did a 3000gt and laid a heavy clear so i could smooth it out and it looked like pure sex...

i would just paint the car myself but i dont have the time to do it........if i at least had another car to drive, then i wouldnt care so much and i'de just do it myself when i pull the motor out for the turbo install.....i wanna redo the WHOLE car.........including jams, engine bay, inner skin of the doors, etc.........but getting a body shop to do that would cost WAY too much money and again i dont have a DD other than my cheri

What's a heavy clear? Best way to get a flat clear is to shoot 2 - 3 coats, let it cure then wetsand it flat and shoot 2 more coats and then repeat the sanding and buffing.

Your paint job looks like your filler was sanded rough and primed and painted over. Looks like a rush job. I did a bumper for a friend and it came out almost perfect except for 2 dots of dust. Dude cried to no end over it and I've never talked to him since. He only paid for materials. I don't do paint jobs for friends, just show cars now and never completes as they aren't worth the money.

I would be raising hell about with with both them and the financial establishment you use to pay them with, and my insurance company. They basically screwed up your car. Totally unacceptable. I paint better than that and I'm an amateur. Looks like poor prep and poor cleaning to me prior to spraying it.

Hardest part for me to learn was when to lay the clear down after the basecoats. Took me like 3 times on my rear bumper to get it perfect (a little off topic right now, sorry).

Have you contacted the people who painted your car and showed them all these imperfections?

well i went down to the body shop the other day........they basically told me i'm SOL and they wont do anything to fix it... they said they would wetsand/buff the rough spots but nothing else, leaving a bunch of smooth spots scattered over the car..........

SO...i started wetsanding the car myself..........so far I have the top of the trunklid buffed out.......looks much better than it did before, but still not where I want it to be........could be a LOT smoother, but i dont know how deep I can go since I never got a straight answer on how many coats of clear are on the car.....

absolutely worst case scenario, i have a gallon of DC3000 clear sitting here...if i have to i'll have someone spray that over the car.....

i'm still left with a big ass paint chip and a few dents they never took out (biggest is on the trunk lid)

eventually when i have another car for a daily driver i'm going to strip this car down and completely repaint it...jams and all...

Much better indeed. Sucks that they wouldn't help you at all, but at least it's salvagable
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...
