Weird "thudding" from wheel
Well I've had this problem for about a year now and the thud increases with speed and almost sounds like a rock or nail is stuck in a tire but slightly quieter. There is nothing stuck in them and I have gotten new tires since it started and that did not solve the issue. It is constant regardless of road conditions, etc. I'm really stumped. It's the passenger side and I'm pretty sure it's the front.
Thanks
Thanks

Usually the wheel bearing will make a kind of howling noise that you can feel it the steering wheel, but goes away while you're turning the wheel in 1 direction.
The cv joint will usually pop when you turn the wheel all the way and try to take off in 1st gear. Does the sound go away when you put it in neutral and coast? That could also be a sign of a bad cv joint on the axle.

not to hijack the tread but if you are doing 1 you should do at least both on the front.OhNoA2.0 wrote:Do you still have one left? It looks like my drivers side pooped out on me.boostalot717 wrote:Wheel Bearing-let me know if you want some.
As for the sound you are getting it could be a couple things. But have you checked your ball joints. The bearings will howl or screech depending on how bad they are and the cv will pop (the best test is in reverse with the wheels turned to their extreme and the pop will be consistent). Ball joints have a vertical motion and could be thudding on the hub if there is play in them.
